The membership will be open to individuals, institutions,
industrial houses and NGOs interested in conservation and protection of domestic
animals.
Founder Members
Life members shall be called as Founder
Members if they join the society in the year of its establishment. The President,
General Secretary and treasurer will be elected only from among life members.
Fellows
Eminent scientists working on animal
conservation and for the advancement of the Society may be elected as Fellow.
The total number of fellows at any time shall be fixed.
Institution Members
The institutional membership is open
to all institutions-universities, colleges, state and central Government department,
industrial and commercial houses/NGOs including farmers’ unions/societies
engaged in livestock conservation. The fee is Rs. 10,000/- for one time and
Rs. 1000/- (Annual).
Honorary Members
Honorary membership may be granted by
Executive Council to persons of eminence who have done pioneer work and contributed
to the conservation and development of domestic animals. The number of honorary
members will be limited to five at a time.
Life Members
Any person who pays the membership fee
Rs. 2000/- (one time) and Rs. 1000/- per year (Two) for student shall become
a life member of the Society. The membership fee for the Foreign member is $
100 (US dollor).
Ordinary Member
Any person who pays the prescribed annual
membership fee @ Rs. 100/- shall be an ordinary member. He will be entitled
to vote and hold office of the society provided his annual dues are paid upto
31st August of each year. If a candidate after paying regular membership continuously
for at least five years want to convert is into life membership, he/she shall
be given rebate of 20% of the dues paid.
Sessional Members
Any person holding at least a degree
in Science, interested in attending conference, symposia, seminar, workshop
and other activities of the Society, will be enrolled as sessional member. The
membership fee is Rs. 100/-.
PROCEDURE FOR ENROLMENT
A person desirous of becoming a member
of the society will apply on a prescribed form which can obtain from general
secretary free of cost. Two members of the Society of good standing are required
to vouch for the applicant. The forms should be submitted to the General Secretary
along with the requisite bank draft. Outstation cheques will not be entertained.
The application of membership will be considered for the membership committee
appointed by the Executive Council.
